Tropical Storm Isaias – LIVE UPDATES:

Current Conditions:

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 8/2/2020 11:00pm

  • 50 miles off the East Coast of Florida near Cape Canaveral
  • Storm did not make landfall in Florida Sunday.
  • Headed N-NW, and the eye is not projected to make landfall until at the Carolina’s.
  • No hurricane watches in Florida.
  • Southern part of coast left largely unscathed, aside from minor power outages.
  • The west coast of Florida has yet to experience any wind/rain and should not for the duration of the storm.
  • No severe damage caused anywhere in Florida.
  • Storm expected to move out of Florida entirely by Monday morning.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 8/2/2020 8:00am

  • Remains a Tropical Storm.
  • Eye of the storm is still off of the east coast of Florida headed N-NE.
  • All hurricane watches on the east coast have been lifted.
  • Storm still weakening. East coast not expected to experience over 60mph winds. Winds will start increasing along the East coast during early afternoon Sunday, coupled with heavy rain.
  • The west coast of Florida may experience some heavy rain and mild winds of 25mph at the most.
  • Storm expected to move out and die down by Monday morning.

Hurricane Isaias as of 8/1/2020 8:00pm

  • Has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.
  • Eye of the storm is off of the east coast of Florida.
  • Hurricane watches for some eastern counties have already been lifted.
  • Storm has been weakening since yesterday night.
  • Projected to make landfall in Southern Florida Saturday night.
  • The west coast of Florida may experience some heavy rain and mild winds of 25mph at the most. Still out of the storms pathing.
  • East coast should at the worst experience pounding rain and 70 mph winds which does not qualify as hurricane strength.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Hurricane Isaias as of 8/1/2020 12:00pm

  • Remains Category 1 Hurricane.
  • Eye of the storm will be off of the east coast of Florida.
  • State of Emergency still in effect for every east coast county. They are not projected to experience the eye of the storm, but may encounter winds of up to 80mph along with heavy rain.
  • Storm has been weakening since yesterday night
  • Currently passing over the Bahamas
  • Projected to make landfall in Southern Florida Saturday afternoon/night.
  • The west coast of Florida may experience some heavy rain and mild winds of 25mph at the most. Still out of the storms pathing.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Hurricane Isaias as of 7/31/2020 6:00pm

  • Category 1 Hurricane.
  • Storm has exhibited approximately 90-100mph winds at its center.
  • Most recent forecast shows the eye closer to the east coast of Florida.
  • State of Emergency declared by Gov. De Santis for every east coast county. They are not projected to experience the eye of the storm, but may encounter winds of up to 75-85mph along with heavy rain.
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida Saturday morning.
  • The west coast of Florida may experience some heavy rain and mild winds of 25-35 mph but is currently out of Isaias’ path
  • No calls for evacuation.

Hurricane Isaias as of 7/31/2020 11:00am

  • Storm is now listed as a Category 1 Hurricane.
  • Storm has exhibited approximately 90-100mph winds at its center.
  • Current pathing still indicates the storm will move about 100 miles off the east coast of Florida. Western Florida is not positioned in the storms cone as of now. Eastern coast of Florida is in a Tropical Storm warning but should not experience the brunt of the storm.
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida Saturday morning.
  • Storm will bring heavy rain and flash floods. Wind speeds expected to be around 35-40mph at most on the West coast of Florida as of now.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 7/31/2020 3:30am

  • Predicted to become a hurricane by Friday night.
  • Storm has exhibited approximately 70-75mph winds at its center.
  • Current pathing still indicates the storm will move off the east coast of Florida. South Florida still remains in a Tropical Storm warning but should not experience the brunt of the storm.
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida Saturday morning.
  • Storm will bring heavy rain and flash floods. Wind speeds expected to be around 50-55mph at most on the West coast of Florida.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 7/30/2020 5:00pm

  • Storm is now predicted to become a hurricane by Friday night.
  • Maximum sustained winds of 65-70mph.
  • South Florida will not experience the heart of the storm as its current path indicates it will be off the east coast of Florida. Eastern Florida has been issued a Tropical Storm watch (39-73mph winds).
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida Saturday morning.
  • Storm will exhibit heavy rain and flash floods. Wind speeds expected to be 65-70mph.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 7/30/2020 2:30pm

  • Moving NW at 20mph. Currently over Puerto Rico.
  • Maximum sustained winds of 60mph.
  • The heart of the storm is projected to lean toward the east coast of Florida but the entire state remains in the storms path.
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida as early as Friday night, but more than likely will do so Saturday morning.
  • Storm will exhibit heavy rain and possible flash floods. Wind speeds expected to be 65-70mph. These are near hurricane strength winds.
  • Storm to remain in the Tropical Storm category for its duration (39-73mph winds). Potential for it to increase in strength.
  • No calls for evacuation.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 7/30/2020 8:00am

  • Approximately 900 miles southeast of Naples, FL.
  • Moving NW at 20mph.
  • Maximum sustained winds of 60mph.
  • The storm has shifted slightly to the east but all of Florida still remains in its path.
  • Projected to make landfall in Florida as early as Friday night, but more than likely will do so Saturday morning.
  • Storm will exhibit heavy rain and possible flash floods. Wind speeds expected to be 55-60mph.
  • Storm to remain in the Tropical Storm category for its duration (39-73mph winds).
  • No calls for evacuation.

Tropical Storm Isaias as of 7/29/2020 6:00pm

  • Approximately 1000mi Southeast of Naples, FL
  • 45-50 mph sustained winds
  • Moving WNW at 23 mph
  • Nearly all of Florida currently resides within the projected cone of the storm.
  • Suspected to make landfall in Florida late Friday night into Saturday morning.
  • Will experience heavy rain and exposure to approximately 50mph winds, storm is moving moderately fast.
  • No current calls for evacuation.
  • Not projected to turn into a hurricane.
